Falcon powers – The American research center has warned that the Russian military is preparing for a large-scale attack on Ukraine once weather conditions improve.
The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) stated that Russia may be gearing up for a fresh assault in Ukraine in the coming weeks. The announcement by the research center, based in the United States, comes amid concerns that the weapons provided by Washington to support Ukraine may not arrive in Kyiv in a timely manner.
Russia has made military gains along the frontlines in recent months, aided by delays in Western assistance. Riley Beal, an analyst at the Institute for the Study of War, stated that “Ukrainian forces are currently under significant constraints due to material shortages and delays in Western military aid.” He added that they “do not possess the capabilities they once had to counter Russian advances.”
Beal emphasized that Russian forces are gradually regaining their activity and moving on the battlefield, “threatening to make significant operational progress this summer during an anticipated large-scale offensive.”
The institute predicts that Russia will launch new attacks on key sites, including the strategically important city of Shazov Yar. Beal explained that “if Russian forces seize Shazov Yar, they will have a location from which they can launch subsequent offensives on Konstantinovka and Krasnohorivka.”
These cities are vital and serve as the backbone of Ukrainian defense.
