FALCON POWERS – There is no doubt that science fiction greatly inspires scientists, as many technologies and innovations first appeared in science fiction films and series before becoming common reality, such as robots, video communications, smartphones, and tablets, among others.
However, the most alarming development is what Swedish scientists have recently worked on – the creation of “the first living computer.” They have invented a computer made of human brain tissues, which is the computer that has appeared in many science fiction films, series, drawings, and comics.
The British Daily Mail recently published a special investigation on the world’s first “living computer” made of human brain tissue. According to the newspaper, the living computer consists of 16 organic parts, or clusters of brain cells that were grown in the laboratory, and they transmit information to each other, functioning in a way that is very similar to a traditional computer chip, as they send and receive signals through their neural cells that act like circuits.
What makes it unique is that the “living machine” uses less energy because the living neural cells can use a million times less energy than the current digital processors.
Compared to the world’s best computers, such as “Hewlett Packard Enterprise Frontier,” scientists found that it has the same speed and 1000 times more memory.
It is worth noting that the human brain uses between 10 to 20 watts – compared to a computer that uses 21 megawatts.
The newspaper indicated that the “living computer” was developed by scientists at “Finay Spark,” a company that focuses on finding solutions with biological neural networks.
