SD Party: We Won’t Stop Fake Accounts and Websites, and Will Ease Criticism of Opponents and Respect Allies

FALCON POWERS – In a statement to the Swedish news agency TT, Mathias Bäckström Johansson, the secretary of the SD party, stated that his party will not shut down the fake accounts on social media platforms or the misleading websites they operate. However, he pledged to refrain from harshly attacking their opponents and said the party will be more considerate towards their coalition partners in the government going forward.

Bäckström Johansson said, “We will be prepared to make some minor adjustments to soften the tone in the future, so that we can work together to focus on solving important issues in society.” His comments came ahead of a meeting with his counterparts from other parties in the Swedish government this Thursday afternoon.

Bäckström Johansson also confirmed that the party has referred two of its communication department employees, responsible for posting satirical clips, for professional training so they can deal with the new rules.

Concurrently, the Swedish newspaper Expressen published an internal memo from the Sverigedemokraterna (SD) party, guiding its members on how to respond to the fake accounts scandal. The memo considered the media campaign against the party as targeting it ahead of the European elections.
