Shoplifting in Swedish Stores Rises to 10.5 Billion Kronor Annually “Clothing, Food, and Electronics”

FALCON POWERS – According to a report published by Swedish media, shoplifting in Sweden is accelerating at a rapid pace, and sometimes the security measures taken by Swedish stores are unable to stop the bleeding of theft. Some affected stores have indicated that they can barely continue operating and may be forced to succumb and close due to the losses incurred from theft.

According to the “Theft and Crime in Commerce” report, 10.5 billion Swedish kronor are stolen annually from Swedish stores, with the thefts concentrated in clothing stores, food product stores, and stores selling electronics – a sharp increase of 20% from the previous year.

The findings presented in this report reveal the threat that theft and other forms of crime pose to Sweden as a commercial nation and the sustainability of businesses. It is now imperative that this issue be addressed with the utmost seriousness. The time has come to reverse this trend, as stated by Sofia Larsen, the CEO of Svensk Handel in Örebro, whose company’s stores have suffered from a high rate of losses due to theft.
