Falcon powers – The Slovenian Foreign Minister has condemned the continued closure of the Rafah Crossing from the Palestinian side for the fifth consecutive day, describing it as a disaster.
During a joint press conference with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Sunday, Slovenian Foreign Minister Tania Fajon affirmed that Israel is flagrantly violating international law in its actions towards civilians in the Gaza Strip.
The Slovenian Foreign Minister further stated that her country has taken a stance regarding the situation of civilians in Gaza by increasing support for UNRWA and recognizing the full membership rights of Palestine in the United Nations.
In his first comment on the reality of the violation of the Egyptian-Israeli peace treaty, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry stated that “the Egyptian-Israeli peace treaty is a strategic choice that Cairo has made for over four decades.”
He emphasized that “the treaty is the main cornerstone in the region for achieving peace and security,” and explained that “the treaty has mechanisms that are activated to address any violations that may occur.”
He added, “The treaty has specific mechanisms for dealing with violations, if they exist, and the matter is handled within a technical framework as well as the framework of the Military Liaison Committee. We continue to deal with the treaty from this perspective.”
