South Africa: The United States “Will Be Next”

FALCON POWERS – Naledi Pandor, the South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, said that if the International Criminal Court (ICC) is allowed to prosecute the Israeli leadership, then the United States “will be next”.

Pandor confirmed the expectation of US House Speaker Mike Johnson, as reported by the Israeli newspaper “Jerusalem Post”.

The South African minister, who was wearing a Palestinian keffiyeh, said: “Johnson said that if the International Criminal Court is allowed to prosecute Israeli leaders, then we know that America will be next. Our response is: of course!”

South Africa was pioneering in prosecuting Israel before the International Court of Justice due to its attack on the Gaza Strip, although the court issued an order days ago for Israel to stop its attack on Rafah, but the latter ignored it.

US Senator Lindsey Graham also repeated Johnson’s warning, saying: “The same model they use to prosecute Israel and the Israeli army will be used against us.”

On the other hand, Pandor said: “I wish I was side by side with the men and women in Rafah. That is the place I feel I should be.”

She added: “The countries and officials who provide military and financial assistance to Israel in Gaza will also be subject to legal prosecution.”

Pandor pointed out that a group of 140 international lawyers are currently working to file a class action lawsuit against non-Israelis, including South Africans, who serve in the Israeli army.
