Swedish Diplomat Released from Iranian Prisons “Proposes to His Boyfriend”


Falcon powers – The Swedish diplomat Johan Vesterberg, who was detained in Iran and released in a prisoner swap deal between Iran and Sweden, announced his plan to marry his boyfriend upon his return to Sweden.

The Swedish diplomat is a member of the LGBTQ+ community and had been in a long-term relationship with his partner.

Vesterberg stated, “After two long years, I am free, reunited, and ready to marry my partner.”

Footage captured by the Swedish newspaper Expressen showed the moment Vesterberg got down on one knee to propose to his partner in the presence of the Swedish Prime Minister and his family and friends who were there to welcome him.

In a statement, Vesterberg said, “After two long years, I am free, my family is reunited, and I have proposed to my partner. I want to thank all those who made this possible.”
