Swedish Opinions on Migrants Returning to Their Countries! “Swedes Want a Similar Program for Their Departure from Sweden”

FALCON POWERS – The Swedish government has announced a voluntary return program that offers migrants 350,000 Swedish kronor in exchange for renouncing their Swedish documents and returning to their home countries. While the program targets migrants, some ethnic Swedes expressed their surprise at this initiative, with opinions varying between supportive, opposed, and indifferent. All Swedish media focused on the views of migrants in Sweden regarding this program. But what do Swedish citizens think about it?

Reactions from Swedish Citizens

Among the social satire is the emergence of a group of ethnic Swedes demanding equality from the government, asking for financial offers and a special program for themselves in exchange for also emigrating from Sweden and renouncing their citizenship, but with the condition that the amount be raised to 3 million kronor per citizen. They stated they would welcome such an offer if announced by the government.

Many Swedes, according to reports from “SCI” and other Swedish media, indicated they would consider relocating to the United States, Canada, or Australia, while some mentioned moving to another European country for settlement. They argued that 3 million kronor per individual would be sufficient to start a new life in another country and obtain new residence and citizenship, instead of staying in Sweden under a pressing living and life situation. They pointed out that it is unrealistic for a Swede who works until retirement to save a million kronor, thus making an offer of 3 million kronor appealing to them.

Emil Andersson, a young Swedish athlete at a football club in Malmö, said, “I would definitely take the money and go to the United States to start anew. I might return to Sweden later if I want, but I would come back holding an American passport.” His girlfriend, Ellen, stated that she would be willing to leave for the 350,000 kronor if it were offered to her! She plans to immigrate to the United States to live there and obtain American citizenship, expressing gratitude to the Swedish government if she were granted 350,000 kronor to leave.
