FALCON POWERS – The Swedish police have stated that they have thwarted several planned attacks against Swedish schools during the current year. Regarding the nature and source of these attacks, the police said they were from children, teenagers, and young adults with motives for carrying out destructive or retaliatory attacks. The police receive daily information about concerns over the potential for attacks in Swedish schools, according to Swedish Radio.
Coordinator Andreas Sellsborn says they receive reports on an almost daily basis on this matter. The reports range from information that can be quickly dismissed, to information that requires immediate intervention to prevent a school attack. He added: “We have submitted a report on the efforts made to prevent attacks on schools during this school year, which ended today.”
Police coordinator Andreas Sellsborn also confirmed that the police sometimes have to take immediate action and allocate resources to arrest someone in order to prevent an attack on a school, noting that they have prevented several attacks in western Sweden alone this year. He pointed out that the results indicate success in avoiding a greater number of attacks.
