Swedish Police Refuse to Issue “Lost Passport” for Woman and Warn Against Repeated Passport Losses

FALCON POWERS – The Swedish police have warned citizens about the repeated loss of their passports, as they will face laws preventing them from obtaining a new “lost passport.

” According to the law, a Swedish citizen is not allowed to receive more than three passports within a five-year period. This warning comes after the police refused to issue a “lost passport” to a Swedish citizen for exceeding the permitted limit.

The woman challenged the decision in court, but the administrative court rejected her request, noting that she had received three passports in less than five years and was now seeking a fourth, which is against the regulations.

The woman provided personal justifications for her need to travel to Africa for marriage; however, the police and court did not consider these reasons sufficient to grant an exception to the laws, which stipulate that no more than three passports can be issued within five years. The court based its decision on strict laws enacted in 2016 after growing concerns about the misuse of multiple passports.

This tightening aims to protect the integrity of the Swedish passport and prevent its exploitation for illegal purposes, especially with the increasing demand for European passports in the black market.
