Falcon powers – Today, Saturday, polling stations opened in Slovakia, Latvia and Malta, completing the European Parliament elections, which will continue until Sunday.
The European elections will also start on Saturday in Italy, where the far-right “Brothers of Italy” party led by Prime Minister Georgia Meloni is seeking to cement its presence among the corridors of European decision-makers in Brussels.
350 million voters in the 27 EU member states are entitled to participate in the elections, with expectations that far-right parties will achieve unprecedented gains.
In Slovakia, the attempted assassination of Prime Minister RobertFico on May 15 has overshadowed the elections, with analysts saying the attack may boost the chances of his leftist “Smer-SD” party winning the vote.
