FALCON POWERS – On Sunday night, the Houthi group announced the attack on two American ships, “Captain Paris” and “Happy Condor”, as well as targeting an American destroyer, in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea.
Reuters quoted the Houthi military spokesman, Yahya Sare’e, as saying that the group had launched ballistic missiles at the American destroyer, as well as sea-based missiles at the ship “Captain Paris” and drones at the ship “Happy Condor”.
It is unclear whether these American targets were hit or suffered casualties as a result of these attacks. The British Maritime Trade Operations said early Sunday morning that a ship about 40 nautical miles south of the Yemeni city of Al-Mukha reported two explosions nearby.
The agency added that the ship and its crew were safe, and the voyage continued without identifying the ship.
The Houthi attacks have disrupted global trade, forcing ship-owning companies to change the course of their ships away from the Suez Canal, which has led the United States and Britain to carry out retaliatory strikes since February in response to these attacks.
