The Israeli Army Burns Southern Lebanon with the “Trebuchet”

FALCON POWERS – Social media and news outlets circulated, on Thursday, a photo of Israeli soldiers using a primitive weapon to launch flames towards Lebanese territories.

The Israeli Broadcasting Authority published, on Thursday, a photo of Israeli soldiers throwing incendiary bombs towards Lebanese territories to ignite fires there using the trebuchet, just as it used to happen in ancient wars.

The Broadcasting Authority explained that the Israeli army is using the “trebuchet” weapon in order to ignite fires in southern Lebanon, and the shots show the Ras al-Jamal site opposite the town of Ramia. Israeli media reported that since the start of the war, the Israeli army has been working to burn bushes and thorns on the Lebanese border, but the attached video is “practical evidence” of this method followed by the Israeli army.

The Israeli army said that this is a local initiative and not a tool that has been used on a large scale, and the area on the Lebanese border is characterized by rocks, thickets and dense thorny plants, which poses a challenge for the Israeli army forces deployed in the area.

Despite the photos and video, the Israeli army did not officially acknowledge this, but it can be estimated that burning the thorns and plants across the border was aimed at exposing the area to reveal any armed men trying to reach the border.
