Falcon powers – The Israeli occupation army expanded its invasion of the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, on Wednesday.
Local sources reported that the occupation army is expanding its invasion of Rafah and reaching the borders of the Yibna camp and the Al-Abbad Jabr area, amid intense artillery shelling and heavy gunfire.
The sources also mentioned that there is an advance of the occupation army’s vehicles towards the Salah Al-Din Gate, south of the city of Rafah, amid heavy gunfire.
Earlier, Hebrew media reported that the Israeli army is expanding its activities in the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, where its forces have advanced along the “Philadelphia Axis” adjacent to the Egyptian border.
The Israeli army radio said that army forces advanced deep into Rafah and reached the Al-Brazil neighborhood, and occupied two-thirds of the Philadelphia axis.
The Salah Al-Din axis, known as the “Philadelphia Axis,” extends inside the Gaza Strip from the Mediterranean Sea in the north to the Karam Abu Salem crossing in the south, along the Egyptian border, which is about 14 kilometers long.
This comes as the Israeli army has already been controlling the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing since May 7th, as part of its military operation in the city, which Egypt had expressed its rejection of.
Earlier, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said he had informed the US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan that “Israel’s duty is to expand its ground offensive in Rafah to dismantle Hamas and retrieve the kidnapped.”
Meanwhile, Egypt denied, on Tuesday, coordinating with Israel regarding its military operation in Rafah, stressing that the Israeli media is “spreading incorrect news to divert attention from the state of confusion it is suffering from internally.”
An informed Egyptian source told the “Cairo News Channel” that Egypt rejected any coordination with Israel regarding the Rafah crossing and warned of the repercussions of the escalation in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing Egypt’s firm position towards the Israeli aggression, which places Egyptian national security and the historic rights of the Palestinian people at the forefront of its priorities.
The informed Egyptian source emphasized that Egypt’s respect for its international obligations and treaties does not prevent it from using all scenarios to preserve its national security and preserve the historic rights of the Palestinian people.
