The Palestinian Authority Confirms Preparations for Abbas’ Visit to Gaza, an Israeli Official Responds

FALCON POWERS – The Palestinian News Agency “Wafa” reported on Sunday that the Palestinian leadership has initiated global contacts and movements to prepare for a visit by President Mahmoud Abbas and members of the Palestinian leadership to the Gaza Strip.

The purpose of this visit is to be present with the Palestinian people who are subjected to a genocide, and to affirm that the State of Palestine and the Palestine Liberation Organization are the parties responsible for all the lands of the State of Palestine, and to work to restore national unity. In this context, contact has been made with the United Nations, the permanent members of the Security Council, Arab and Islamic countries, the League of Arab States, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the European Union and Africa, and other important countries and powers in the world to ensure the success of this step and provide support and participation. Israel has also been informed of this.

On the other hand, the Israeli newspaper “Yedioth Ahronoth” quoted an Israeli official as saying that they will not allow the President of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, to visit the Gaza Strip.

Israeli media reports indicated that Abbas’ visit to Gaza is “unlikely to take place in the near future”. Abbas had previously announced in a speech before the Turkish Parliament his intention to head to the Gaza Strip with all members of the Palestinian leadership, calling on the international community to ensure their arrival there, and he stressed that this decision aims to thwart Israel’s plans.
