FALCON POWERS – Israeli media outlets confirmed today, Saturday, that there is a state of maximum alert in Israel in anticipation of a potential Iranian attack, in retaliation for the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the Hamas political bureau, in the Iranian capital Tehran.
The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation reported on Saturday evening that “a state of maximum alert prevails across the country, fearing a strong Iranian response to the assassination of Haniyeh,” explaining that the Israeli assessments indicate that “there will be an Iranian attempt to strike military targets inside Israel, and the situation within Israel itself requires a response but without being dragged into a full-scale war.”
Earlier on Saturday, an Israeli newspaper revealed Iran’s plan to challenge the defense systems of Israel and the United States in response to the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the Hamas political bureau.
The Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper explained that “Iran is planning a 360-degree strike on Israel, meaning that the Iranians will try to challenge the defense systems of the Israeli-American-French alliance together, and target the Israeli interior.”
The newspaper, on its website, pointed out that the Iranians will try to carry out a strike on Israel in coordination with all parties, meaning that it will be from what the newspaper called the “militias” loyal to Iran in the region or the “axis of resistance” to attack Israel from multiple directions, i.e. from 360 degrees.
The Israeli newspaper speculated that “the Lebanese Hezbollah will participate in the strike that the ‘axis’ will direct towards Israel, but not with its full force and not outside northern Israel.”
