Falcon powers – Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, of Palestinian origin, warned President Joe Biden and members of Congress “that they will pay the price for their unconditional support for Israel” in the upcoming elections.
In a speech delivered at the Palestine Community Conference in Detroit, Tlaib criticized Biden’s and lawmakers’ outrage over pro-Palestinian student protests on college campuses more than their outrage over the scenes of death and destruction coming from Gaza.
She said it is “shameful that the Biden administration and my colleagues in Congress continue to demonize students who advocate for Palestinians on campuses, simply because they are protesting to save lives, regardless of their religion or ethnicity. It’s cowardly… and we won’t forget that in November,” referring to the upcoming election on November 5th.
Tlaib added, “President Biden, I hope you hear us clearly, the attack on the International Criminal Court’s authority and interference in the legal process is nothing more than an attempt to prevent the accountability of the genocidal maniac Benjamin Netanyahu and senior Israeli officials for their crimes against humanity.”
She also condemned the continued U.S. provision of weapons to Israel, pointing a finger at President Biden: “You are complicit, President Biden…We will march, we will mobilize Congress, we will mobilize the White House. Because we have no other choice.”
She concluded her speech with chants of “Free Palestine.”
