Turkey Talks About Serious Malfunction in Iranian President’s Helicopter

FALCON POWERS – On Monday, the Turkish Transport Minister announced that the helicopter being used by Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi was not equipped with a “signal system”, or that it malfunctioned when it crashed on Sunday.

Turkish Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu told reporters “We found that the signal system in the helicopter was likely disabled, or it was not equipped with one.” He added “If that were not the case, these signals would have reached us, but they did not” without specifying whether his statements were related to the communication device or the emergency beacon of the helicopter.

Ankara, which deployed a Turkish Akıncı drone to the crash site on Sunday evening, said its aircraft helped locate the wreckage of the helicopter that Raisi was traveling in, which was found early in the morning northwest of Iran.
