FALCON POWERS – A report by Channel 12 in Israel revealed that Ukraine offered to help Israel deal with Iranian drones, but Israel ignored the offer.
The report says that Ukraine has experience dealing with Iranian drones, which the Russian military has been using in the war for over two years.
According to the report, Ukraine offered to share its expertise in dealing with Iranian drones with Israel at the beginning of last year, after the formation of Benjamin Netanyahu’s government, which was just months before the outbreak of the Gaza war and the subsequent tensions in northern Israel. The report explains that “the Ukrainian Defense Minister at the time proposed that cooperation with Israel on this matter, but there was no real response.”
The channel quoted statements from the Ukrainian ambassador to Israel, Yevhen Korniychuk, in which he said that “at the beginning of last year, immediately after Netanyahu’s government took office, I brought from Kyiv a large piece of an Iranian Shahed drone, as a kind of memento from President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the Israeli Prime Minister.” The ambassador added: “I said then that if cooperation between the countries is not deepened, Israel will also receive such a thing, and this is exactly what is happening now.”
The channel says that Israel “is now facing hundreds of similar drones in the north, whether those carrying out attacks or gathering information, coming from Lebanese territory,” where Iran-backed Hezbollah is active.
Since the outbreak of the war in the Gaza Strip in October, Hezbollah has been launching drones and missiles at Israel in solidarity with Hamas, forcing tens of thousands to leave their homes in Israel and leading to an escalation of political pressure there to take stronger action.
Tens of thousands of Lebanese have also been displaced from their homes after Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon.
