FALCON POWERS – US House Speaker Mike Johnson defended Israel when asked about the killing of thousands of children in the Gaza Strip. In an interview with the American network CNN, the Republican Johnson responded to journalist Erin Burnett’s question about the killing of children in Gaza by saying, “It’s at the hands of Israel”:
“This is a war between good and evil, light versus darkness. We have terrorism that has preyed upon and attacked and killed many civilians. Hamas uses civilians as shields. Why blame Israel? Israel is trying to eliminate a terrorist threat close to them, and we should support our ally. Yes, civilians have been killed, but that’s not Israel’s fault; it’s the fault of the terrorists and Hamas. They have used them as shields and as a threat to Israel. I believe Israel is doing what it should to prevent civilian casualties. But this is war; they are fighting for their existence. They are not the aggressors, and some people don’t understand that.”
