Falcon powers – A former contestant for the title of Miss Ecuador was fatally shot in broad daylight by armed assailants due to her involvement with a notorious gang leader, whom they attempted to keep their relationship hidden.
Video footage from surveillance cameras showed an unidentified individual sneaking into a restaurant and opening fire on Lani Barraza Guevara, 23 years old, while she was talking to another man.
The masked attacker quickly fired shots at Barraza and the man before firing another round at the woman while she lay on the ground.
The second attacker remained on standby at the restaurant’s entrance before both assailants fled the scene.
The police are currently investigating and working to uncover the motive and identify the responsible attackers.
During Angelo’s trial, prosecutors revealed that Noreiro pleaded with her in a 2022 message to help keep his relationship with the beauty queen concealed after accounting officials questioned her about the relationship.
Noreiro wrote, “If my wife finds out anything about her, I will end it.
My girlfriend, her name cannot appear anywhere. Otherwise, my world will collapse.”
The gang member was killed in prison only six months into his sentence. Meanwhile, Barraza’s financial resources were under investigation by the prosecutor’s office, but she was never charged with any crime and made no public comments on the case or her relationship with Noreiro and his organization.
